Velo Works Online Terms and Conditions Velo Works is the trading name of Mr P W Flook and the website address is www.veloworkshop.co.uk and www.veloworks.co.uk.

Products

If you are not happy with a product purchased from Velo Works you need to contact us as soon as you notice a defect or within 14 days if you wish to change your mind about a purchase. All of the products we offer at Velo Works will come with warranty guidelines from the manufacturer. We adhere strictly to manufacturers warranty terms and conditions and support customers fully through this process.

Groupset purchases

When purchasing a groupset you must double check the options you choose because once your order is placed we are not able to swap or change any items without an extra charge. The reason for this is we purchase the groupset as a bundle deal from our supplier and the low cost we offer the groupset for is due to this bundle deal where all the parts are purchased together. If you wish to make changes to your order we will need to purchase parts outside of a bundle deal and there may be an extra cost to make these changes.

Refunds

We will always issue a refund to customers if they change their mind with a purchase as long as the item or items have not been shipped. In the case of handbuilt wheels we will issue a refund as long as we have not started to build the wheels. Please see below how to return goods to Velo Works. Paying via PayPal We incur a transaction fee when customers pay via PayPal. If we need to issue a refund to customers through Paypal we still have to pay this transaction fee and therefore we have to make a loss. We know customers like to pay via Paypal butas a small business we cannot absorb this transaction fee if we have to issue a refund. Therefore if customers pay via Paypal and require a refund we will issue a refund minus the Paypal fee. At the time of writing the fee is currently 3% but this is subject to change. The details of this transaction fee will be issued to the customer once the refund has been made.

Velo Works Online Terms and Conditions Returns

If you wish to return a product purchased from Velo Works we offer a 14-day no quibble returns policy (excluding wheels). Any product returned to us needs to be unopened and fit for resale. Unwanted items are to be returned within 28 days of purchase. Please contact us for return details. We do not offer any returns on DT Swiss wheels or hand built wheels due to the nature of these products. We do offer full support with DT Swiss wheels and our hand built wheels come with a comprehensive guarantee (see below).

Wheel building guarantee Our hand built wheels are covered by a workmanship guarantee and each wheel comes with free spoke replacement for the life of the wheel. This guarantee does not cover impact damage or damage caused by misuse. It is up to our discretion to offer a spoke replacement if we deem a wheel has been misused. To validate the guarantee on a hand built wheel the wheel needs to be checked by us after around 10 hours of use. Usually this check is very basic but it is a necessary quality control process and if we are not able to check the wheel then the guarantee is not valid. When purchasing hand built wheels online, the 10 hour check can be undertaken by a qualified mechanic at your local bike shop. A receipt of this work will need to be shown to validate our guarantee. To access our free spoke replacement service all hand built wheels need to be returned to Velo Works and return details are given with every wheel purchase. Return postage from our shop back to the customer is chargeable. Product specification (wheels) Whilst we endeavour to build wheels with the specification shown on our product pages, there are times when our suppliers do not have the spokes or nipples in stock from DT Swiss. When this happens we use spokes and nipples from Sapim with the same or similar specification. When parts are not available we will always supply a like for like option or upgrade parts where possible. Therefore there are times when the specification of our wheels will change from that shown on the product pages.
